Founder, Dashauna Cotton, mother of 3, was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Dashauna is a graduate of Trotwood Madison High School; she received a technical certificate from Kaplan College as a certified pharmacy technician & associate degree in business management from Sinclair Community College. She has been a community advocate working within human services and nonprofits for over 15 years. Dashauna is currently a partner of The Chosen Church serving within several active roles. Dashauna is an active committee member for Sisters of Strength Empowerment Ministry and former nonprofit, SoLoved.
Dashauna served & operated within leadership roles for a nonprofit organization, VOA for over 8 years, leading her into a final role as the Assistant Program Director for a residential reentry program. Dashauna's qualifications has placed her in many leadership roles for organizations within the State Of Ohio, Montgomery County, and the Federal government. Dashauna has worked within the re-entry & veteran population, developmental disability services, mental health, & senior living/resource development. Dashauna is presently employed with the Dayton VA Medical center operating under her current role as administrative support for the mental health services department; Dashauna provides scheduling support and resources for veterans managing treatment & therapy.
Dashauna has served and impacted the community as a leader in development, social and community engagements, & project development for public, state, and federal resource enhancements. Dashauna has implemented strategic planning and programming within the re-entry development phase for over 10 years. After many years of fear, doubt and uncertainty, the vision Dashauna received from God led her to create an organization to help individuals like her brother to have success and new beginnings after incarceration.
